About
The Wyrd Market is a shelf for real work and the people who make it — built women-first, open to everyone.
In 1984, women earned 37% of computer science degrees in the United States. Today it's around 18%. That didn't happen because women stopped being good at building things — it happened because the rooms changed shape around them.
There are more than enough spaces in tech built around men. This one has a different center of gravity. That's a framing and curation decision, not an access rule: nobody is turned away, there's no gender field, no verification, no policy to enforce. The center of gravity comes from whose work leads the shelf.
The portfolio is the credential. Buyers in this market can't tell competence from confidence, because every portfolio is a list of claims. Here, you open the thing and use it. Builders park work, the work becomes proof, and people hire from proof.
We enforce disclosure, never taste. Every listing must say what it runs on, what state it's in, and who it's for. We're not judging quality — we're enforcing honest labeling. What you build, and how, is yours.
No membership, no listing fee, no application. Gates kill supply, and every marketplace that charged builders to exist died of an empty shelf. Revenue here will only ever come from transactions and attention — never from access.
The Wyrd Market is a Skald property, alongside The Wyrd — a podcast and newsletter about building in public. Same house, same voice: builders talking to builders.
